Charge your cameras and get outdoors – it’s autumn appreciation time again!
For the third year in a row, Albert and I headed to our secret spot (Blackbury Camp in Devon, shhhh, don’t tell anyone) for our Annual Autumn Appreciation Day. It was the perfect day; not a cloud in the sky and so quiet and peaceful that I’m sure my shoulders dropped a full inch in the relaxing atmosphere.
In fact, it was so quiet that you can hear a pheasant take flight at the beginning of the video above. (If you can’t see the video, just click here.)
Not only was it perfectly peaceful, it was also so nice and warm that there were still butterflies and dragonflies around!
Monkey had a good old sniffle and loved being back at one of his very most favouritest ever places.
The colours were spectacular and we had the whole place to ourselves.
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
– Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
Unfortunately, my poor monkey is not well, and he is not supposed to get very excited. Telling a spaniel not to get excited is kinda like telling a politician to answer the question (i.e. it has no effect at all), so I popped him back on the lead to make sure he couldn’t run too far too fast. We have been given an appointment with a cardiologist and hope to find out more about his condition and how best to manage it soon.
